Coconut oil is the latest craze in the holistic health world, and for good reason. It’s a natural anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal (anti-yeast), with fantastic health benefits for the gut, blood and internal organs. But only recently have I found out how nourishing it is for my skin as well.
In the past, I’ve only used coconut oil in cooking, but it’s effective when applied externally to the skin as well! Coconut oil contains a good amount of medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), which are the key component to becoming healthier. They are absorbed quickly, are processes easily, and are fantastic sources of energy. They combat lactic and manage blood sugar levels too. On the skin, the same MCTs are anti-microbial and great for micro-circulation, reducing dryness and building a fresh and healthy complexion.
Do women (and men) know what products they actually put on their skin? Do they take the time to research every ingredient listed? Many people say over and over again that they want to get healthy, but seem to be doing it wrong. Natural, simple, healthy products like coconut oil are they way forward. My advice – try it (organic if possible) for a month and see!
